TIMELINE HISTORIA
1919

On December 5, 1919, the aviation company SCADTA was founded in Barranquilla by German and Colombian entrepreneurs. SCADTA was established as a joint-stock company with the explicit purpose of "economically utilizing air transport through seaplanes.
1920-1940

Golden Era. Expansion of seaplanes along the Caribbean coast and the Magdalena River
1940

All German administrative staff were dismissed, and a merger with SACO formed Avianca. The first Boeing 307 Stratoliner (a wheeled aircraft) arrived, marking the beginning of the disappearance of seaplanes.
2019

Celebrated 100 years since the arrival of the first seaplane.
2020

February 2020 first investment research misión to Colombia and initial meeting with Aerocivil.
2024

June 2024 visit to the original SCADTA base and the Naval School in Barranquilla by the operations team.

2025

Guatape meeting with the Mayor
Alma Air returned to Guatape, Antioquia to discuss plans to bring seaplanes to the area.
2025

Ayapel, Cordoba. Alma Air executives enjoyed a fruitful day of conversations with the Aerocivil team discussing future projects.
2025

Ayapel, Córdoba. September 2025. For the first time in 70 years, seaplanes were seen once more in Colombia.
